Respondent List

The Master of the High Court publish a list of the companies / cc’s /trusts / individuals for which certificates for security bonds have been issued. (This is the first public document stating that proceedings for the liquidation/sequestration of the above have commenced). This list is posted every morning on the Masters Office’s notice board. The list contains the name of the Respondent, Applicant and Attorney of record (or correspondent).

48 Hour List

Due to the fact that notice is not given to creditors when a company or close corporation is liquidated by way of special resolution, it has been decided by The Master that these matters would be dealt with as follows (in Pretoria): 1. When a registered special resolution for the winding-up of a company or close corporation is lodged with the Master, Pretoria, a notice will be pinned on the Notice Board indicating which special resolutions were lodged and when appointments in these matters will be attended. 2. This gives creditors the opportunity to lodge their nomination/requisition for a liquidator timeously for consideration.
